About Hebei Province

Hebei is a coastal province in northern China, with a total population of 74.25 million and an area of 188,000 square kilometers. With the capital city Beijing to its north, Hebei is adjacent to Tianjin in the east and close to the Bohai Sea, with a coastline of 487 kilometers. Under the background of the implementation of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy and the successful bid for the host of 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Hebei is faced with significant development opportunities and in the new stage of accelerated rise.

Location — Hebei and the capital city Beijing and the direct-controlled municipality Tianjin together constitute the core of Bohai, with a customer group of 120 million people and great market potentials.

Transportation — the integrated three-dimensional traffic system of railways, highways, airports and ports leads to all directions. It takes only 70 minutes from Beijing to Shijiazhuang by high-speed rail. The highway mileage reaches 2,007 kilometers, ranking second in China. In addition, Qinhuangdao Port, Tangshan Port and Huanghua Port are all among the ports with handling capacity of 100 million tons.

Industries — the productions of grain, cotton, oil, meat, eggs and milk, fruit and vegetables all rank the forefront of the country. Traditional industries such as the steel and iron, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and building material industries possess obvious advantages. Electronics, new energy, new materials and other strategic emerging industries continue to advance. Modern logistics, tourism and other modern service industries are developing rapidly. Hebei Province has 11 state-level development zones, 206 provincial-level development zones, Caofeidian and Shijiazhuang Integrated Free Trade Zones and a number of industrial parks, which has provided broad platforms to expand the exploration and accelerate the development.

International investment and cooperation — in recent years, Hebei seizes the opportunities of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, the “Belt and Road” construction and Winter Olympic Games, focuses on promoting foreign production cooperation, technology introduction, industries of big data, intelligence development, mobile internet and cloud computing and the environmental protection industry and introduces new industrial technology, patented products and management experience from Europe, America, Japan, ROK and other developed areas.
