Food Safety: Publication of a 2026 Development Plan for National Standards
National Health Commission (NHC)
On 1 September 2026, the National Health Commission published a list of 45 national food safety standards that China aims to develop or update by the end of the year. The listed standards cover food additives usage, food and agricultural products, physical and chemical testing methods, microbiological testing procedures, toxicological evaluation, radioactive substances, nutritional fortification substances, and standards for nutrition and special dietary foods. Organic Food: New Official Product Certification Catalogue
National Certification and Accreditation Administration
On 27 August 2026, the National Certification and Accreditation Administration officially released its updated Catalogue of Organic Product Certification (Announcement 17 – 2026). The previous version was published in 2022. The purpose of the Catalogue is to further improve the organic product certification system, standardise certification activities, and promote the development of the organic industry.
