The Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (FING), in collaboration with the Greek-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the Greek-Asian Business Council, is organizing a Company Mission on 26–29 September 2017, to Beijing and Shanghai, China. This mission is also supported by important local stakeholders (the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Greek International Business Association), as well as by the Economic & Commercial Affairs Office of the Greek Embassy in Beijing.

About the Event

This event covers multiple sectors, but with particular emphasis on the following target areas:

  • Construction (building developers, engineers, architectural firms)
  • Building materials (insulation, interiors, exteriors, chemicals, treatments)
  • Real estate
  • Urban planning
  • Transport

The major objective of this targeted mission for the construction sector is to provide an opportunity for outward-looking companies to make contact and have discussions with local companies in China as a basis for possible co-operation agreements mainly for exports but also for other activities such as joint-ventures, know-how / technology transfer, investment etc.

The bulk of the construction market in China is dominated by local enterprises. However, niche markets, which are available to foreign companies, can grow quickly and be very profitable. The rapid changes in many aspects of Chinese society have created opportunities for companies that can offer technologies to support labour productivity, energy saving, and high quality products and services. Entering the Chinese market is both an enormous challenge and a good opportunity for European SMEs.
