In 2021, the China Centre for Promotion of SME Development under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published a report ranking the overall environment for SMEs in 36 major cities in China. The report outlined the performance of these cities in five different areas: market environment, legal environment, financing environment, innovation environment and policy environment. On 9 June 2022, the 2021 update of this report was published.
The European Chamber and the EU SME Centre, together with the China Centre for Promotion of SME Development, are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Working Group meeting, where Ms Song Xuanyi, Deputy Director of the China Centre for Promotion of SME Development, will present the key findings of the 2021 Assessment Report on the Development Environment of SMEs. The Working Group meeting will take place online via Zoom on Thursday 21 July from 10:00 to 11:00. The meeting will be conducted in Chinese and English interpretation will be made available.

Director, Policy Research Department, China Centre for Promotion of SME Development, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT)
Ms. Song Xuanyi has been engaged in research on China’s SME policies, industrial economy, regional economy and business environment for many years, and has participated in the drafting and implementation evaluation of several policies. She has also initiated and established the National Emergency Industry Alliance and is committed to promoting the emergency industry.
About the China Centre for Promotion of SME Development
The SME Development Promotion Centre of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (China Centre for Promotion of SME Development), the only comprehensive service organisation at the national level to promote SME development in China, was formally established in 1986 under Zhu Rongji and other senior national leaders. Over the past 30 years, the Centre has worked towards supporting and serving the national SME authorities, establishing and improving the national SME service system, and promoting international exchanges and cooperation among SMEs, and it has become the leader of the national SME service system.
