Pets have become big business in China. Pampered dogs, cats, and other fur balls are now a common sight in large cities and beyond. Imported kibble and food cans make up a sizeable part of the market, alongside all kinds of premium snacks.
To guide European SME brands looking to export pet food to China, we are organising on 19 October a webinar with industry experts. Bi Jun, regulatory affairs manager at knoell, will present the evolution of the market in recent years. He will also detail compliance requirements and the market access regulatory framework to import pet food to China.
This event is organised by the EU SME Centre and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China. It is open, free of charge, to all small and medium-sized enterprises, business associations, and public institutions from EU Member States and countries participating in the Single Market Programme.

Bi Jun is a toxicology scientist and regulatory affairs manager with extensive expertise in regulatory affairs for feed, feed additives, veterinary drugs, and biocides in China. He has worked for over a decade with knoell, growing into a trusted expert in animal health regulatory affairs.
A recognised regulatory expert for feed, veterinary drugs, and veterinary disinfectants in China, he regularly manages and monitors toxicological studies. His expertise includes comprehensive toxicological profiles, preparation of summaries for toxicological studies under EU REACH registration, as well as technical support across a wide range of Chinese regulations (pesticides, new chemical substances, medical devices, cosmetics, veterinary drugs).
