The European Commission has created an online course to help EU SMEs to deal with issues such as unfair competition and trade barriers.
The online course consists of short papers covering the essential aspects of trade defence instruments (TDIs) that SMEs should know for their daily business. These papers should help SMEs to navigate through the various aspects of trade defence proceedings.
Course contents
The course gives an overview of the existing trade defence instruments and of the type of measures that the Commission can impose. It looks into a typical TDI investigation, including what can trigger it, its duration, the key steps and the possible involvement of the company.
It also explains in detail what is dumping, a subsidy, injury to the EU’s industry and when it is caused. Last but not least, the paper informs SMEs about how a trade defence investigation deals with a country in cases of significant market distortions.
The online course will also be of particular interest to you if you are an importer or a user of the product that is subject to an anti-dumping or anti-subsidy investigation. To learn more, visit the official page of the Online Course on Trade Defence Instruments for SMEs.
