On 12 June, EU SME Centre Team Leader Liam Jia took part in the SACE roadshow in China and company tour of B·Plan Tech in Chengdu’s Tianfu New Area, in Sichuan Province. Owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, SACE is the official Italian Export Credit Agency. SACE offers insurance and financial services to companies, especially to small and medium-sized enterprises, in its goal to support Italian exports and FDI.
The day started with a company tour of B·Plan Tech, with a presentation by CEO Alberto Borini on the company’s recent achievements. He highlighted B·Plan Tech’s innovative solutions and strategic vision.
As part of the SACE Roadshow in China, the company tour was followed by a roundtable discussion moderated by Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President of CICC. Speakers included Alberto Borini, Liam Jia, Renato Tango, Vice GM of Chengdu ASK China Consultants Co., Ltd, and Ermanno Vitali, CEO at FAAM China. The discussion focused on value creation with localised supply chains in Chengdu-Sichuan for SME mechatronic companies.
The event was organised by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, DSICI of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, Chengdu B Plan Tech Co., SACE, and the EU SME Centre.
Chengdu has long been an established national electronics and IT hub and is chosen by an increasing number of tech companies. As the country’s western centre for logistics, commerce, finance, science and technology, as well as a transportation and communication hub, Chengdu has become one of the key cities for European businesses establishing a presence or expanding their operations in China. For this reason, Chengdu is also one of the three cities selected for the upcoming SME Business Mission organised by the EU SME Centre for European SMEs in green industries.
