On 27 November, the EU SME Centre presented its activities to European small and medium-sized businesses participating in the 2024 China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in the booth organised by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce. The event was held at the China International Exhibition Center in Shunyi District, Beijing.
The CISCE premiered in 2023 to showcase supply chain innovation for global trade and was this year in its second edition, with the theme “Connecting the World for a Shared Future”. Several European countries including Poland, Hungary, and Belgium were represented at the event with national, trade promotion and corporate pavilions.
Over 100 000 square meters of exhibition space highlighted six key industrial chains for this second annual edition: Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Smart Vehicle, Digital Technology, Healthy Life, Green Agriculture and Supply Chain Services.
In the booth of the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce (CICC), lead consortium partner implementing the EU SME Centre Phase IV (2022–2025), the Centre, represented at the event by Communications & Visibility Manager Nelly Alix and Finance & Liaison Manager Annie He, answered enquiries from participants and introduced its services to European SMEs. The CICC booth offered a platform for dialogue and networking to businesses engaged in international trade, in particular between Italy and China.
Guests at the CICC booth included representatives from the Ursa Major Consortium Delegation of Italian F&B operators, European Union Chamber of Commerce in China President Jens Eskelund, AICE (Italian Association of Foreign Trade), as well as CICC North China Chapter Vice President Andrea Croci.
