China Tightens Enforcement of Rules in Criminal Cases of Corruption and Bribery

Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s Procuratorate

Starting 1 May 2026, new measures aim to strengthen enforcement against cases of corruption, bribery and embezzlement by setting clearer monetary thresholds and clarifying valuation rules for shares, luxury goods and other assets. Draft for Comments on Data Management Regulations

This draft regulation would ease personal information compliance for small processors in China handling data on fewer than 100 000 individuals. It would allow simplified privacy notices, lighter audit and impact assessment requirements, and, in some cases, reliance on platform or shared rules. Measures for the Expansion and Upgrade of Comprehensive Bonded Zones

The measures aim to promote trade, including cross-border e-commerce, with more flexible warehousing and re-export arrangements.
