The following categories of products are exempted from CIFER registration:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Plant-based seasonings (not crushed or ground)
- Dried beans
- Food grains (except rice)
- Oilseeds
- Unprocessed coffee beans
- Unprocessed cocoa beans
- Food additives
