From March to May 2021 a webinar series of four webinars have been organized by the EU SME Centre and the China Europe Water Platform, to explore the management of the Urban Water Cycle in Europe and China.
On 18 May, the fourth and last webinar of the webinar series, organized together with China Europe Water Platform was held on the topic of ‘Carbon Footprint of the Water Sector’.
During the roundtable discussions it was found that Circular Economy has become prominent in both European and Chinese policymaking. Chinese and European perspectives on a circular economy share a common conceptual basis and exhibit many similar concerns in seeking to enhance resource efficiency. The whole webinar series was followed by a total of more than 300 participants from 20 European countries plus China, exploring the management of the Urban Water Cycle in Europe and China.
The EU SME Centre expert, Liam Jia, presented the Centre during the webinar and informed about the participation of the Centre at Aquatech Shanghai 2021. The outcomes and findings of the webinar series was summarized in a report and presented during two organised hybrid seminars held at Aquatech.
