New Rules on Industrial and Supply Chain Security Investigations

The new measures, under the Announcement No. 24 on 22 June 2026, set out triggers to investigation procedures and enforcement measures for official probes into foreign states, organisations or individuals whose restrictive or discriminatory actions allegedly undermine China’s industrial and supply chain stability. Read the full text in Chinese >


Draft Amendment to China’s E-Commerce Law Opens for Public Consultation

State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), MOFCOM

Beijing Strengthens Role of Trade Unions with New Measures

Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal People’s Congress

Beijing has revised its implementing measures for the Trade Union Law with new rules strengthening the protection of gig workers and workers in other forms of employment. The amendments require trade unions to support the establishment of unions in platform companies and cover dispatched workers, allow collective bargaining over algorithms, and expand labour dispute mediation. Read the full text in Chinese >


Shanghai AMR Releases Guidelines for Establishing a New AI Standards System

Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation

Issued on 22 July 2026, the city’s 3-year roadmap lays out a comprehensive local standard system for artificial intelligence, covering technical requirements for AI-enabled products, and targets for new national and international standards.
