New Action Plan to Boost Foreign Investment in Selected Sectors

China Introduces New Protections for Employees Working Beyond Retirement Age

China has introduced new rules, effective 1 July 2026, to strengthen protections for employees who continue working after reaching the statutory retirement age. Employers must sign written agreements with over-age workers, comply with rules on pay and working conditions, and provide work-injury insurance coverage.
