China is building a “new” economy which fosters new drivers of growth and encourages China’s economic transformation in its aim to transition from an investment- and export-driven to a consumer-led economy. In order to boost the power of a consumer-oriented “new economy”, China is focusing on developing the entrepreneurship, services industries, technological upgrading and greener living. European SMEs can definitively contribute to this process, but it is necessary to understand the opportunities and challenges how to structure their business in view of the current context in China.

For this purpose, the EU SME Centre invites you to join SME GM Roundtable on New Economy. At this meeting, a senior consultant at Roland Berger will deliver a presentation on How Do SMEs Restructure Successfully? After the first presentation, Mr Gianluca Ghiara, Managing Director at Geapower (attached his bio) will deliver a presentation on New Economy, which will cover aspects as energy, environment, and so on. Then Mr Marco Vitali, Founding Partner of RM Architects Limited, will share the experience of a European architecture design SME, and the opportunities and challenges in China. Followed the presentations, we will have a roundtable discussion on the related issues with SMEs.
