With more than 600 million internet users and a growing number of people using mobile payment systems, cyber security in China plays an important role. In 2013, the costs of criminal cyber activities in China were estimated at 37 billion U.S. dollars.
Therefore in recent years, China’s leadership has acknowledged the importance of cyber security and declared cyber security as a key priority. Nevertheless, it remains as a critical issue concerning many European SMEs doing business in China.
In this context, the EU SME Centre will host a webinar to explain primary cyber security challenges in China and provide solutions for your businesses.

About the Speaker
Karsten Luc
Karsten is the co-founder and Director of Operations of Think Asia Group, a risk and strategy consultancy. He completed his Magister Artium at Free University of Berlin and Technical University of Berlin, specializing in Sinology and communication science. His research explored the Science Fiction genre in China, with particular interest in the development of Western technology in China.
Karsten has gained extensive experiences in developing and implementing strategies regarding digital marketing, risk communication, and cybersecurity in the Asia-Pacific region for almost a decade. Previously, he headed the marketing department of a tech firm in China and advised European and Chinese private sector clients and government institutions.
Johannes Kadura
Johannes is the co-founder and Managing Director of Think Asia Group. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s research, operations and sales teams.
Johannes earned a PhD in American history from Cambridge University. He is the author of a book on the Vietnam War which will hit the shelves in 2015. He is also an Associate Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). Johannes grew up in China, the US, and Germany. He is currently living in Beijing.
