On Tuesday 26 September, Outi Slotboom, Director for Strategy and Economic Analysis, Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), met with the EU SME Centre team at the Centre’s office in Beijing. Frank Schmiedel, First Counsellor at the EU Delegation in China, and Jiang Yan from the Trade Section of the EU Delegation in Beijing, also participated in the meeting.
EU SME Centre Team Lead Liam Jia presented the work and key achievements of the first 15 months of the project in Phase IV.
Director Slotboom had a debrief with the EU SME Centre team on the 10th High-level Economic and Trade Dialogue (HED) co-chaired by European Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis and Vice Premier of China’s State Council He Lifeng.
Director Slotboom gave her recognition to the Centre’s work and first-line advice provided to European SMEs. She encouraged the team to provide continuous support to the EU-China dialogue for market access and future dialogues on SMEs.
Helika Jürgenson, Project Manager of the China IP SME Helpdesk, a fellow EU initiative led by DG GROW and close partner project of the EU SME Centre, also participated in the meeting.
