On 24 April 2026, representatives from the EU SME Centre and the European Chamber met with the the Taicang Investment Promotion Bureau led by Huibin Li, Director of the Department for Sino-German Cooperation, in Taicang, Jiangsu Province..
During the meeting, the Taicang Investment Promotion Bureau introduced the city’s development history and strategic location, highlighting Taicang’s geographical and transportation advantages within the Shanghai-Suzhou region. The Bureau also presented the role of Taicang Port as the largest port along the Yangtze River, as well as the city’s supportive business environment and policies aimed at accelerating business development, particularly for foreign SMEs.
Ester Cañada Amela, Advocacy Manager of the EU SME Centre, introduced the Centre’s services and mission. She outlined the Centre’s continued commitment to supporting European SMEs interested in the Chinese market through methods such as information sharing, policy advocacy, and industry exchange.
Both the EU SME Centre and the Taicang Municipal Government agreed to maintain close communication and explore future opportunities for cooperation.
