On 24 February 2026, Lynn Wu, Senior Business and Government Affairs Manager of the European Chamber South China Chapter, attended the Digital Economy and New Trade Formats Session of the Guangdong High-Quality Development Conference in Guangzhou. Guangdong Vice Governor Zhang Guozhi delivered opening remarks, while Zhang Jinsong, Director General of the Guangdong Department of Commerce, introduced policy priorities focusing on digital trade development, institutional opening-up and cross-border e-commerce growth.
Key initiatives highlighted included measures to expand cross-border e-commerce, the 2026 China (Guangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Fair (16–18 June), the “Go Global” service resource pool, and a provincial global warehousing information platform. The session provided useful insights into Guangdong’s evolving digital trade agenda and future opportunities for foreign-invested enterprises, particularly European SMEs.
