On 12 March 2026, the European Chamber co-organised the “2026 International Enterprise Industry & Trade Exchange – Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Session” with the Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau and the Shenzhen Enterprise Service Group in Longhua District.
Led by Klaus Zenkel, South China Board Member, and Xuanyi Wang, Government Affairs Desk Manager of the European Chamber, a delegation of Chamber healthcare-related Working Groups and Desks members, including representatives from European SMEs in the healthcare sector, participated in the event.
The delegation first visited CR SANJIU, National Innovation Center for Advanced Medical Device, and Cornerstone Robotics, gaining first-hand insights into the latest innovative achievements in Shenzhen’s biomedical and high-end medical device sectors, as well as growth pathways for SMEs in this field.
Following the visits, the delegation joined a focused roundtable discussion. Topics covered Shenzhen’s latest biomedical industry developments, targeted supportive policies, medical device innovation and med-tech integration, Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border medical cooperation, digital and AI-enabled healthcare applications, as well as the city’s unique industrial competitive edges over other domestic hubs and cross-border data compliance rules for the sector.
Representatives from Shenzhen Public Hygiene and Health Commission and Shenzhen Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Office attended the discussion and responded to the enterprises’ specific queries and concerns, including those raised by healthcare SMEs. Representatives from Shenzhen Longhua District Investment Promotion Service Center, Longhua Development and Reform Bureau, and Longhua Science, Technology and Innovation Bureau attended the event.
