Advocacy Actions: European Chamber South China Forum Chair at GBA Business Development Roundtable Conference

19 December 2025

On 16 December, Daisy Yang, Chair of the European Chamber South China SME Forum, represented the Chamber at the 4th GBA Business Development Roundtable Conference 2025. Huang Shaowen, Vice Mayor of Foshan, attended the event and delivered opening remarks.

Ms. Yang emphasised that EU companies frequently encounter contract performance and intellectual property disputes in the GBA. While acknowledging progress like specialized IP courts, she noted that high enforcement difficulty, cross-border resolution gaps, and language barriers still hinder growth, underscoring the urgent need for a fairer market environment.

Looking ahead, the Chamber expects the Chinese government to further strengthen competitive neutrality, enhance legal certainty, and provide more transparent and equal policy support for European companies, particularly SMEs.
