About VITARTIS

The agri-food sector is a strategic foundation for the economy of Castilla y León, representing the first industrial sector at the regional level (with a turnover of more than EUR 11.7 billion and exports of around EUR 3 billion in 2022) and the third nationally.

Vitartis is the agri-food industry Cluster in Castilla y León. Our main organization members are agri-food companies from this region of Spain, which are characterized by being socially responsible, sustainable concerned, respectful of their land, and innovative, to get excellent quality products. In addition, Universities, Technological Centers, and service companies in the agroalimentary sector are also part of Vitartis, turning the association into the perfect nexus between the business world, science, and research.

Nowadays, Vitartis is integrated by 144 members (93 SMEs and 35 large-size companies), of which 111 are agri-food enterprises. Food sectors involved in the Cluster are widely varying: meat, fish products, canned fruit and vegetables, wine, coffee, dietetic food, biscuit, dairy industry, bakery, sugar, flour, nuts, health, catering, frozen foods, food ingredients, animal feed, and agriculture.

Our Mission is to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of the food industry in Castilla y León by promoting innovation in all areas and to work for the economic and social development of the region by representing the sector before public and private organizations.

Among our activities are 1) promoting R&D and innovation in every field of the food industry: product, process, service, and organization, 2) encouraging technology transfer among technology partners and business members, 3) promoting innovative initiatives across the value chain to achieve the strengthening of the sector and 4) boosting collaboration among different agents to develop a more sustainable and resilient food supply chain.
