Being unaware of such duties is not an excuse for Chinese authorities, and neglect can lead to serious consequences, including penalties and even cancelation of the business licence or registration certificate.

About the Speaker

Yuhua Yang – Partner, Llinks Law Offices (Beijing)

Ms Yuhua Yang is a partner in Llinks Law Offices’ Beijing office. She has rich and varied experience working for law firms in London, New York, Hong Kong and Beijing. She specialises in cross-border international practice, serving both Chinese and foreign clients in fields as diverse as capital markets and corporate finance, M&A, inbound and outbound investment, international trade, private equity and venture capital, IP rights, restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy, and international dispute resolution.

Ms Yang graduated with bachelor degrees in law and economics from Peking University. She received an LLM degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and completed a Certificate of Study in Business and Public Policy at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She also participated in the Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme in London in 2004 and 2005.
