On 3 June, EU SME Centre Advocacy Manager Ester Cañada Amela joined a panel discussion during the International Logistics Summit in Barcelona. The session brought together representatives from business support organisations around the world, and it was titled “The Response of Supply Chains and International Trade to the Current Disruptions”. During the exchange, the various representatives provided an overview of the general trends in their respective markets, as well as recommendations for companies looking to internationalise and enter new markets.
Ms Cañada Amela provided an overview of the economic and trade headwinds in the Chinese market and their impact on companies exporting to and operating in the country. She stressed that companies looking to enter the Chinese market, and in particular SMEs, must thoroughly prepare for a challenging, if lucrative, market by, among other things, availing themselves of resources provided by their respective governments and the European Union – for instance, the EU SME Centre and the IP SME Helpdesk.
