EU–Shenzhen Policy Conference

28 August 2025

On 20 August 2025, the European Chamber co-organised the EU–Shenzhen Policy Conference with the Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau.

This is the fourth annual EU–Shenzhen Policy Conference jointly held with the Shenzhen government since 2022, aiming to enhance dialogue between EU SMEs and local authorities and provide updates on the policy environment in South China.

The conference was joined by Mr. Liu Zhenqiang, Deputy Director General of the Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau, and Mr. Fabian Blake, Vice President of the European Chamber and Chair of the South China Board. Officials from the Shenzhen Commerce Bureau and the Shenzhen Investment Promotion Bureau introduced key local policies, including the Implementation Details of the Foreign Investment Reward Plan and the Development Plan of Trade in Services and Digital Services, offering practical insights for EU SMEs interested in investment opportunities and digital trade.

Following the conference, the European Chamber delegation visited BYD Headquarters, further exploring Shenzhen’s innovation ecosystem and cooperation opportunities for EU SMEs.
