The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the largest disruptions in public health and economy that most of us have ever faced. Businesses around the world have felt its effects, and it is undeniably that SMEs have experienced an even more severe impact due to higher levels of vulnerability and lower resilience related to their size.

In this context, the EU SME Centre, EUROCHAMBRES and our official partner, Voka – Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mechelen-Kempen are organizing an online business conference which will take place on 14 October 2021, where five EU SMEs will be explaining how they managed to successfully export into China in these difficult times. You can read more about the event here

For this purpose, we are calling for European SMEs that have effectively exported goods or services to China in these difficult times. In particular, we would like to:

─    interview interested European SMEs,

─    select five from different sectors of activity and exporting stages, and

─    invite a representative to share its experience in a dedicated webinar.

The objective is:

  • Inspire companies in their transformation process or in their continuation during and after Covid-19
  • Stimulating (more) export to China
  • Encouraging companies to be even more open for change, innovation, cooperation,…
  • Moral support by sharing stories in this pandemic

Interested European SMEs are invited to contact the organisers with the following information:

  1. A description of the company and the commercial activities carried out in China.
  2. Feedback on how the company is coping with the pandemic.
  3. How the company transformed its business model:
    • digitization
    • productization or product / service diversification
    • new technology
    • new target groups
    • new sales markets
    • new sourcing markets
    • international partnerships or support....

Interested companies shall contact the organiser including the abovementioned information and return it before 30 June 2021 to the following email address: laura.velasco@eusmecentre.org.cn
