The 2022 Two Sessions are taking place in a context of transition and in certain areas upheaval. Domestically, on one hand the 20th Party Congress is set to significantly alter the composition of the leadership around President Xi Jinping (who is widely expected to go on for a third term). On the other hand, on top of the overarching trend of an economic slow-down, the past year has seen a wide range of highly disruptive initiatives, from ‘Dual Circulation’ and China’s various pledges on decarbonisation to ‘Common Prosperity’.

The EU SME Centre and the European Chamber are thus pleased to invite you to join our next Policy Meeting, where Ms Dan Wang, Chief Economist at Hang Seng Bank, and Mr Damien Ma, Managing Director of MacroPolo, will provide their perspectives on the outcomes of the Two Sessions. The meeting will take place on Friday, 18 March from 09:00 to 10:30 (Beijing Time) online via Zoom.

Agenda:

09:00-09:05 Opening Remarks

09:05-09:55 Presentation by Ms Dan Wang and Mr Damien Ma

09:55-10:30 Discussion and Q&A
