China has had no shortage of industry scandals involving foreign companies in the past few years: the quality of imported milk products has been called into question, car manufacturers have been accused of massive environmental pollution and foreign retailers have been attacked for alleged price rigging. Increasing scrutiny by government and citizens alike is thus turning corporate social responsibility from a moral obligation to a mandatory element of sound business strategy.

EU SMEs looking for long-term engagement with China are well advised to develop appropriate strategies in this regard, which, if done well, can help protect against damaging allegations and serve as a unique selling point at the same time. In this webinar, EU SME Centre expert Richard Brubaker will elaborate on why your company should become active now and how you can employ a cost-effective approach that will help protect and boost your business in China. Points discussed will include:

  • CSR in China
  • Creating a CSR strategy
  • Examples of CSR strategies in China
  • Implementing CSR in your company
  • CSR and return on investment
  • Tools and resources
