Knowledge Centre Coordinator

The EU SME Centre (the Centre) is a project funded by the European Union, with aim to help EU small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that prepare to do business in China by providing them with a range of information, advice, training and support services. Established in October 2010, the Centre has entered its second phase which will run until July 2018 www.eusmecentre.org.cn

The Centre is implemented by a consortium of six partners - the China-Britain Business Council, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce, the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce, and the French Chamber of Commerce in China, the EUROCHAMBRES, and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.

The EUSME Centre is now looking to hire a “Knowledge Centre Coordinator” for its office in Beijing on a short-term contract that will be completed on July 2018. The Knowledge Centre is one of the most popular service areas of the EU SME Centre and has produced over 140 publications which have been downloaded by European businesses thousands of times - www.eusmecentre.org.cn/knowledge-centre.

Main duties                                                                 

1. Coordinating Research Activities

  • Coordinating the development of sector reports, case studies and guidelines with the Centre’s partners and expert network
  • Editing research reports in English

 

2. In-house Research

  • Carrying out market research and writing reports on China’s developing business environment

 

3. Presentations

  • Able to present results and findings of research to internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Including presenting on the EU SME Centre’s webinar platform

 

4. Answering Business Development enquiries

  • Working with the Business Development Advisor to answer business development enquiries

 

5. Database Management

  • Manages and develops exhibitions and service providers’ databases on the Centre’s website

 

6. Sales

  • Promoting sale of EU SME Centre products and services, especially publications, research and database products

 

7. Any other working supporting the activities of the rest of the EU SME Centre as designated by the EU SME Centre Director

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University level education or professional qualification in areas of business, economics, law, marketing
  • At least 2 years of professional experience
  • Excellent knowledge of market research
  • Excellent Chinese and English language skills, both spoken and written
  • Must have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise a multitude of tasks
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Ability to speak another EU language would be an advantage
