Event Description

Following the first WG meeting on challenges for EU SMEs in access to financing, The EU SME Centre is inviting you to the second Inter-Chamber SME Working Group Meeting. In this meeting, you will learn:

  • Financing options that are available for EU SMEs;
  • Financing policies for EU SMEs;
  • Case studies from Commerzbank.

This meeting is only open to European small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and SME intermediary organisations such as embassies or consulates, chambers of commerce and trade associations.

Speaker Biographies

Ludmila Hyklova - Legal Advisor, EU SME Centre

Ludmila has been involved in legal consulting on international investment and cooperation for more than 17 years. She is now in charge of providing legal advice on foreign investment and import to China to European SMEs looking to establish themselves in the Chinese market.

Martin Broda, General Manager, Commerzbank AG, Beijing Branch

Since July 2013, Martin Broda is heading Beijing Branch of Commerzbank AG as General Manager. As such he is responsible for the operations of Commerzbank in North-West China. He is also Member of the Board and Treasurer of the German Chamber of Commerce in China - North China and German National Representative to the European Union Chamber.

Mr. Broda started his career in 1994 in the Corporate Banking business in Germany, which later led him into the international credit business in Luxembourg focussing on Syndicated Lending as well as Aircraft- and Project Finance. Having spent five years in banking he moved on to the Financial Advisory business of KPMG, where he headed the Valuation practice in Luxembourg and became also involved in M&A as well as Transaction Services. Following a step into the Mezzanine/Private Equity arena, in 2006 Martin returned to Corporate Banking, taking over responsibility for the Financial Engineering activities of Commerzbank in Bavaria, Germany. This service encompassed strategic financial advisory and implementation of complex, tailor-made financing solutions for corporate clients.
