Webinar: Using Free Trade Zones When Importing to China

  • Type :Webinar
  • Date :Mar 4, All day, 2014

Importing products to China can take many forms.  Direct export of finished products from the EU to China is one option, but there are other variations to this process. For example, only part of the final product is shipped to China, then assembled with parts manufactured locally, and only then sold to the Chinese customer, or even exported again. In such cases, assembly can be done either ‘behind’ the Chinese customs border or within special free trade zones.

Several aspects, such as contractual framework, taxes, import tariffs, payment or  foreign exchange control need to be taken into account when preparing an import strategy for such arrangements. This webinar will clarify crucial issues which make this type of importing possible and cost effective by giving a general overview of the problem, showing alternatives, and providing case studies on how to handle different situations.
